Rob Rickey on his home:

"Redlands was built in 1955, a two story brick house of 150m2. We have done a complete retrofit using the Passivhaus Planning Package (although it is not a certified Passivhaus). The floor plan was drastically changed to make the house more livable, and we self-built a studio using Durisol blocks. The front lawn was stripped and terraced and is now a fruit and vegetable garden. We have reduced our gas usage by 75%, and plan to add a solar hot water collector to reduce it further. We have a 2.9kWp PV array."

Features:
- cavity wall insulation
- roof insulation
- solid wall internal/external insulation
- under floor insulation
- energy efficient boiler
- wood burning stove
- solar PV
- energy efficient appliances
- passive solar
- triple glazing
- draught proofing

Please drop in any time on Saturday 17th May from 11am-4pm.
