Gill Westcott's home is a grade 11 listed building built in the 18th century that has been fitted with solar PV, solar thermal and loft insulation.

The building is heated by a log-fired Rayburn with radiators, and by a woodstove in the main living room. Energy efficiency strategies and lifestyle choices with large spaces and listed interior features include use of shutters, heavy curtains and a sleeping bag when on the third floor computer.

GIll is a Director of Exeter Community Energy and is very knowledgeable about sustainability and community issues.
